When we checked in with the Flight Service Station this morning, they said there is a low to the west and the forecast is for low clouds and rain. Just as they were finishing up our weather briefing, a pilot called in and said they had to turn around and land at Burwash Landing. It was the second plane this morning to do so. With that, we filed for Burwash Landing, which is a short hour and a half flight. As we were doing our preflight, the P-51 took off to the east then swung around and buzzed the field--sweet sound. As we approached Burwash Landing, the rain had moved over the field and we came in low following the road. Earl has a friend just up the road a bit and he met us at the airport. Joel Prestone runs the wrecker service in these parts. Roxienne Prestone, is the school teacher for the towns of Burwash Landing and Destruction Bay. It is a one-room school with about 6 or 7 children this year (K through 12). They treated us to a wonderful lunch, including some moose and beef summer sausage and canned salmon. After a few hours and another check of the weather (which was actually getting worse), we ended up getting a couple rooms at the Inn in Destruction Bay and spending the night.
Approaching the east end of Kluane Lake, we can see the rain and low ceilings at mid lake.

After hearing about Earl's behavior, Roxienne made him write 100 times on the chalk board...
He did it again...Earl gets his lunch while locked up in the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) pokie...
This gentleman is a deaf mute from Belarus. He pulled into Destruction Bay while we were having dinner. He is driving his motorcycle around the world.
